Police Support Volunteers
Police Support Volunteers provide vetted support to policing in defined non-warranted roles.
What volunteers can do
Volunteer opportunities can support neighbourhoods, rural crime, vehicle support, chaplaincy and other approved operational or professional areas. Each role has a defined purpose, supervision and access appropriate to the work.
Police powers and access
Police Support Volunteers are not warranted police officers. A volunteer role does not by itself confer police powers, operational authority, radio access or a police callsign.
Recruitment
Available volunteer roles and their requirements are published when an opportunity opens.
