Police officer eligibility
A live vacancy sets out the eligibility requirements that apply to that campaign.
What recruitment checks
Police officer recruitment considers identity, integrity, suitability, conduct, capability and any other requirement lawfully attached to the role. The assessment must be relevant to the duties of a Police Constable and applied fairly.
Education and skills
The current route is PCEP. A degree is not required for that route. Where the role requires an appropriate standard of English, maths or another capability, the vacancy and recruitment process will explain how that requirement is assessed.
Vetting and pre-appointment checks
Successful candidates must complete the checks required for appointment. These can include identity, vetting, references, conduct and other role-specific checks published for the campaign.
Reasonable adjustments
Tell Recruitment if you need an adjustment for an application, assessment or interview. Adjustments are considered so you can take part fairly while the genuine requirements of the role continue to be assessed.
